ATTRACTIONS: to visit the Wat Kao Bandai It you have to either walk (30 min walk from the centre) or take taxi. Khao Luang cave is another marvelous spot to
visit. It is about 4 km away from the centre so take taxi or hire a bike or a motocycle. Be ready for plenty of cheeky monkeys al around the entrance - you can use a teddy crocodile to protect your bike or car from
them :)). there is a nice view point above the temple with a big statue of Buddha. The statue is still under construction and should be finished in 4 years if there is enough money for it.
You can donate :). Phra Nakon Kiri hill with it's stupa, temple and museum is another landmark of Phetburi and worth visiting (expect a monkey infestation again). The town celebration takes
place here every year on around February 10-15.
ACCOMMODATION: i have to recommend "Chom Klao" hotel on the river bank. It is fairly good for Chinese hotel and many of the rooms have a splendid river-view. The owners are very
nice and helpful people and they even speak a bit of English (Phetburi is not Bangkok, right?). The night food market by the post office is a splendid place to eat in the evening. Everyone
will find what he/she likes :)). And the last but not least - the coffee joint in the lane behind Chom Klao hotel is the best one in Thailand. I would go there every day just to drink their
delicious coffee-lao and watch local old man talk.
Phetbury is simply one of my favourite towns in Thailand, don't
miss it.
